M178 4.0L Twin-Turbo Performance Downpipes

The Yonristic Performance Downpipes for the AMG GT series replace the restrictive factory catalytic downpipes with a high-flow architecture designed to maximize turbocharger efficiency and engine performance. Positioned directly after the turbochargers, the downpipes play a critical role in controlling exhaust gas evacuation and overall engine responsiveness.

By significantly reducing backpressure in the turbo exhaust pathway, the system allows the M178 engine’s twin turbochargers to spool faster and operate more efficiently. This results in noticeably improved throttle response, stronger mid-range torque, and increased horsepower output. Drivers will also experience a sharper, more aggressive exhaust character that better reflects the performance potential of the AMG GT platform.

To suit different performance goals and driving environments, the system is available in two configurations. The catless free-flow version provides the maximum possible exhaust flow and delivers the most aggressive sound and performance characteristics. For drivers seeking improved performance while maintaining catalytic functionality, the 200-cell high-flow catalytic version offers a balanced solution that significantly improves exhaust flow while retaining catalytic converters.

Both versions feature fully heat-shield wrapped construction, helping to manage the intense heat produced by the twin-turbocharged V8. Thermal management is critical in high-performance turbocharged engines, and the heat shielding helps reduce radiant heat within the engine bay while protecting surrounding components.

The result is a performance upgrade that dramatically enhances both the power delivery and the sound character of the AMG GT platform while maintaining OEM-level fitment and reliability.
